Greenwater Walleyes Guide Service & Castle Rock Hideaway
It’s time for our annual Ice Fishing Trip with a few old friends from high school. Last year was our first time hiring a guide and I can’t say enough good things about it. In the past we would get together somewhere centrally located as we’re all very spread out between WI & MN. We would study the lakes in the weeks prior, arrive in the evening and use topo maps to find possible good areas to fish on a body of water we knew very little about. Let me tell you, those first few seasons were very tough. We had a great time, but we weren’t the most successful fisherman on the lake.
Last year we decided we wanted more help and enlisted Deano’s Guide Service on the Chippewa Flowage. It was incredible! We had a great time at Deerfoot Lodge, caught a ton of fish and learned more than we could have imagined in just one day with him. We’ll be sharing more from that trip in the future as well.
This year we are trying our luck in Central Wisconsin, staying at Castle Rock Hideaway, and hiring owner & operator Jesse Quale of Green Water Walleyes Guide Service. Jesse has a vast knowledge of Castle Rock Lake, Petenwell Flowage and many of the lakes in the surrounding area. He has been guiding for 20 years, doing both open water and ice fishing. In the fall and spring, he offers guided bear, waterfowl, and turkey hunts as well. He truly is a jack of all trades and we can’t wait to meet him and hit the hard water with him!
Stay tuned for more content and feedback from next week’s trip with Green Water Walleyes. We are excited to ice fish a new body of water, but even more-so, to meet Jesse, stay at Castle Rock Hideaway, and enjoy some time together with great friends!
