The Tribute
In my opinion going fishing is still one of the most exciting experiences a person can have.
My mother has taught me many things but one of the greatest things was the joy of going fishing. She would take my sisters and I from about the age we could walk. We would go down to the creek or to a nearby lake to catch anything we were patient enough to wait for. Many times I was unsuccessful and even dropped a pole down the ice hole. But with a lot of patience and a few hundred snags I finally started to figure it out.
Now that I have children of my own, I understand how much work it was for her and now can be for me. She wasn’t just out there fishing for herself, but rather teaching us a hobby we still cherish today. I am so grateful for the time and patience she put into teaching me at such a young age. It’s a reminder to me that it isn’t just about catching a fish, but spending quality time in the great outdoors and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Thank you for instilling in me the importance and love I have for the outdoors.
